Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current State of Texas license to practice professional nursing or temporary/compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications may be required by unit.
• RN levels defined: RN I <1 year; RN II 1-3 years; RN III 3-10 years; RN IV 10+ years.

Responsibilities

• Delivers safe and appropriate care to patients, according to nursing skills inventory and patient needs.
• Coordinates planning for delivery of nursing care with interdisciplinary team and clinical decisions.
• Collaborates with healthcare team to achieve positive outcomes based on data, research, and standards.
• Coordinates treatment plans; develops and implements discharge and transfer plans.
• Participates in evaluation of programs, process improvement and patient-centered outcomes.
• Adheres to regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards.
• Promotes professional growth; may serve as preceptor or mentor.
