A per diem RN must be able to work 16 shifts every 6 months, with at least 4 weekend shifts, including one summer and one winter holiday.

Job Summary

The Staff Nurse is a registered professional nurse in Massachusetts responsible for planning and providing patient care for assigned patients according to Nursing Standards of Care as outlined in the Nursing Department’s Clinical Practice Manual. Demonstrates initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills in caring for patients with complex needs. Manages patient care by full assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, reporting directly to a nurse manager or supervisor. Ensures practice aligns with the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment exemplifying best practices. Floating includes med/surg units and the ED observation area.

Qualifications
  • BSN is required.
  • Current licensure in Massachusetts as a registered nurse is required.
  • 2 years of Med/Surg experience preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Adheres to all I C.A.R.E. standards.
  • Evidence of basic analytic thinking necessary for patient care.
  • Strong observational skills and ability to set priorities.
  • Ability to function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective skills in applying hospital standards, teamwork, communication, respect, and time/priority management.
