Job summary

HCA Healthcare's TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville is seeking an Acute Care Resource Nurse to join the Med Surg Float Pool. You will provide direct patient care across six medical and surgical floors, collaborating with the nurse team to maintain high-quality outcomes.

You will assess patient needs, administer medications, monitor status, and educate patients and families as part of a multidisciplinary planning approach.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensed in Tennessee.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred.
• Ability to float between six Medical and Surgical floors.

Responsibilities

• Assess plans and evaluate patient care needs; carry out physician orders.
• Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, monitor vital signs.
• Monitor, record and communicate patient condition using computerized documentation systems.
• Instruct and educate patients and families as part of a multidisciplinary care planning team.

Our Med Surg Float Pool nurses will float between our six Medical and Surgical floors.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Acute Care Resource Nurse

The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice. Maintains a safe therapeutic environment. Identifies nursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. Registered Nurse plans individualized patient care while utilizing an interdisciplinary approach. Participates in performance improvement activities. Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement.

When acting in charge nurse role, registered nurses are responsible for day-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a therapeutic environment. Make staff assignments based on patient need, acuityand the skill of the staff. Serve as role models and clinical resource for the staff. Responding a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with physician, staff or patient issues.

What you will do in this role:

What qualifications you will need:

• Registered Nurse from accredited school of nursing
• Current Licensure with Tennessee Board of Nursing
• Current BLS
• ACLS within 6 months of hire
• 2 yearsof clinical nursing experience preferred
