Job summary

Los Angeles Community Hospitals is looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant to support nursing staff by taking and recording vital signs, assisting with hygiene and ADLs, and helping maintain a safe, clean unit environment.

The role also includes stocking supplies and performing routine clerical tasks, under supervision. Required CA CNA certification, BLS, and strong English communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• CNA certification in California.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification.
• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Fire and Life Safety Card for LA City Employees (where applicable).

Responsibilities

• REPORTING AND DOCUMENTATION OF CARE: accurately measures and records weights and vital signs and documents activities.
• PATIENT COMFORT AND PRIVACY: assists with hygiene, elimination, ADLs and maintains privacy and infection control.
• COLLABORATION FOR PATIENT CARE: supports licensed nurses with care activities, specimen handling, turning and transport.
• COMMUNICATION: demonstrates caring behaviors and uses independent judgement when appropriate.
