Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Patient Care Assistant - GB (CNA) for Great Bend Hospital. This PRN, part-time role supports the RN by performing delegated tasks in a caring, culturally sensitive manner with strong patient service.

Responsibilities include data collection, following care plans, documenting responses, and communicating with the health care team. Must meet CNA licensure and BLS, with 6 months medical center exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• CNA knowledge and nursing assistant functions.
• BLS/CPR basics and willing to obtain BLS within first two weeks of employment.
• Able to perform clinical competencies on assigned unit.
• Must be able to follow an individualized plan of care and document patient responses.

Responsibilities

• Collects initial and ongoing data as delegated based on chart documentation.
• Follows an individualized plan of care to promote positive outcomes for patient/family and health team.
• Carries out delegated patient care activities safely and communicates with health care team.
• Accurately documents patient responses to interventions/therapy.
• Adheres to safety policies; ages under 18 cannot operate certain power-driven devices.
