Job summary

University of Mississippi Medical Center is seeking a charge nurse for UMMC Greenwood - Med/Surg. The role leads nursing staff, coordinates patient care, and ensures adherence to quality standards.

The RN will delegate tasks, consult with physicians, and act as a clinical resource on the unit. The position requires an active RN license with at least one year of RN experience; BSN preferred and two years of RN experience in the area is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as RN for at least one year.
• Valid RN license.
• Two years of RN experience in specified area preferred. BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating treatments and procedures for patients.
• Serves as lead nurse, supervises and coaches RNs and nursing staff.
• Ensures patient safety.
• Assists leadership in scheduling and ensuring appropriate staffing.
• Consults with leadership on staff evaluation.
• Educates patients and families on condition, medications, and schedules.
