Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Med Lab Scientist 2 to perform and monitor a full range of lab tests. The role includes quality control, instrument maintenance, and coordinating with lab personnel to ensure accurate results.

Responsibilities include reporting results, maintaining supplies, and contributing to laboratory projects and education. Strong knowledge of safety and infection control is required, with prior ASCP certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of work experience above minimum qualification.
• Less than 1 year of Experience.
• ASCP/AMT/AAB certifications or equivalent required/advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Performs laboratory tests per procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Follows QC/QA, safety and infection control procedures.
• Maintains instrument calibration and troubleshooting.
• Reports test results accurately.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and communicates with lab staff.

Job Summary

The Med Lab Scientist 2 performs and monitors a full range of lab tests and research. Assumes responsibility for problem resolution, quality control, and equipment maintenance with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions of the Role

• Performs laboratory tests in compliance with department procedures and all pertinent regulatory requirements.
• Follows quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures.
• Performs instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Accurately reports test results.
• Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies.
• Maintains effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.
• Participates in laboratory projects and educational activities.
• Demonstrates and educates laboratory methods and technical skills to others.

• EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
• EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience
• CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -
• ASCP-Blood Banking Technologist (ASCP-BB), ASCP-Chemistry Technologist (ASCP-C), ASCP-Cytogenetics Technologist (ASCP-CG), ASCP-Cytologist (ASCP-CT), ASCP-Hematology Technologist (ASCP-H), ASCP-International Hematology Tech (ASCP-IH), ASCP-Microbiology Technologist (ASCP-M), Molecular Biology Technologist (ASCP-MB), ASCP-Blood Banking Specialist (ASCP-SBB), ASCP-Chemistry Specialist (ASCP-SC), ASCP-Hematology Specialist (ASCP-SH), ASCP-Microbiology Specialist (ASCP-SM): Must have one certification from one of these issuing agencies: American Board of Histocompatibility (ABHI).

• Grandfathered HEW Licensee.
