The role you’ll contribute:

Primary responsibility is the provision of medication distributive functions and pharmacy operational tasks, including assisting the pharmacist with preparing and dispensing medications, inventory management, and regulatory compliance. Performs duties necessary for the effective daily operation of all department services and programs. Accurately responds to medication dispensing requests, prepares medications for pharmacist review, delivers checked medications, and manages unused or expired medications. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all.

• Pharmacy Operations: Performs all pharmacy technician functions and maintains proficiency in standard work, hospital and pharmacy computer systems, and operational programs.
• Pharmacy Practice: Supports medication safety by identifying and reporting potential errors such as look-alike sound-alike medications.
• Clinical Pharmacy Services: Supports practice in all pharmacy areas and clinical services.
• Teamwork and Collaboration: Presents to assigned areas on time, is ready to work, and maintains consistent attendance.
• Teaching and Mentorship: Mentors new staff and assists with training.
• Quality Improvement and Compliance: Supports medication-use process improvements and participates in regulatory activities.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Pharmacy Intern
• Applicable State Pharmacy Technician Registration (RPT) or valid Pharmacist Intern license if applicable

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates or technical degree in a related field or healthcare certification
• One year of hospital, retail, or ambulatory pharmacy experience
• Current certification from PTCB or ICPT
