Cantex is seeking a Certified Medication Aide for The Madison on Marsh in Carrollton, TX. The role requires state nursing assistant certification and medication administration credentials, plus ability to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with state and federal regulations and facility policy.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the 'five rights' of medication administration.
• May take and record vital signs of patients/residents as assigned or as required by medications.
• Records administration of medications and/or treatments appropriately.
• Observes for and reports reactions/side effects to a licensed nurse.
• Administers PRN medications per regulations and facility policy.
• Dispenses narcotics under nurse supervision and accounts for them as required.
• Maintains secure medication carts/rooms per regulations and policy.
• Attends facility education in-services.
• May supervise nursing assistants/orderlies as assigned.
• Ensures medication areas are clean and organized; removes expired meds.
• Attends Quality Assurance meetings; upholds Abuse Prevention policies.

This individual must perform these tasks as ordered by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, and in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations.
