Job summary

Windsor Gardens in Lancaster, Texas, is seeking a Certified Medication Aide for two full-time shifts (6am–2pm and 2pm–10pm, Monday–Friday). Responsibilities include administering medications under nurse supervision, recording administration, and observing for adverse reactions.

Qualifications

• State certification as a Nursing Assistant is mandatory.
• State approved medication administration certification where required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the five rights of medication administration.
• Records administration of medications and treatments accurately.
• Observes for and reports reactions and side effects to a licensed nurse.
• Administers PRN medications per facility policy and documents responses.
• May dispense narcotics under supervision and account for them.
• Keeps medication carts/rooms secure and organized per policy.
• Attends facility education in-services and QA meetings.
• May supervise nursing assistants as assigned on shift.

This individual must perform these tasks as ordered by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, and in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations.
