Overview

Salary: $90,000 – 100,000 base + 8% yearly bonus

Location: Onsite, Clearwater, FL

Hiring an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design and support custom automation equipment. This hands-on role involves creating mechanical systems from concept to production, overseeing manufacturing, installation, and commissioning, and troubleshooting technical issues on industrial equipment.

The ideal candidate will have strong CAD skills (Creo preferred), a solid understanding of motion systems, and experience in industrial automation.

Responsibilities
  • Design automated machines and mechanical components.
  • Develop 3D models and 2D drawings (Creo).
  • Collaborate with electrical and controls teams for system integration.
  • Perform mechanical calculations and simulations.
  • Support machine assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Create documentation (BOMs, assembly guides, etc.).
  • Train and support operators and maintenance teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement in automation processes.
Travel

Up to 25% for equipment installation and vendor support.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or an Associate’s Degree and equivalent years of experience
  • 5+ years in mechanical design, preferably in automation.
  • Proficient in CAD (Creo is used in their environment), with knowledge of motion systems, pneumatics, GD&T, and DFM.
  • Experience with robotics, vision systems, packaging, or material handling.
  • Familiarity with PLCs and safety standards (ANSI, ISO, CE).
  • Hands-on machine build and lean manufacturing experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to work on shop floor, lift up to 40 lbs, and wear PPE as needed.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work on the production floor for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in environments with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
