Job summary

KLA is seeking a Mechatronics Systems Design Engineer in Milpitas, CA, to advance metrology equipment development for semiconductor manufacturing. You will collect data, calibrate systems, and write scripts in Python or Matlab, while contributing to system integration and validation in lab and cleanroom environments.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or Master's/Bachelor's with related work experience as specified.
• Experience in mechatronics and precision motion systems.
• Ability to translate customer and system requirements into test plans and hardware designs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-impact work across your area of expertise.
• Work on data collection, analysis, calibration, and scripting.
• Perform hands-on hardware work in lab or cleanroom.
• Define plans for system integration, testing and troubleshooting.
• Design robust hardware through requirements, motion systems, CFD analysis and validation.
• Possess knowledge of optimization and image processing is a plus.
• Conduct hardware-in-the-loop experiments to retire design risks.
• Travel to customer sites < 10%.
