Qualifications

• PhD in Optics, Physics, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Eng, Electrical Eng, or related field.
• Hands-on experience constructing and aligning opto-mechanical systems is highly desirable.
• Experience diagnosing and driving solutions to complex problems across whole systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the division, customers, vendors and across cultures.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for system components, including design reviews and ECOs.
• Contribute to prototype testing and verify performance of critical components.
• Provide input to acceptance criteria for incoming materials and subsystems.
• Lead small teams addressing product-level issues and improvements.
• Develop performance and troubleshooting diagnostics for existing and new products.
• Lead product or feature introductions including manuals and manufacturing alignment.
• Support training of operations and field personnel.
• Contribute to research and proposals for new product features.
• Develop concepts and designs for next-gen systems.
• Coordinate root-cause analysis with global engineering teams.
