Job summary

Lam Research in Livermore, CA is seeking a Supplier Business Manager to join the Global Operations team. This role supports the Mechatronics commodity, driving supplier performance, executing the commodity strategy, and ensuring on-time delivery of critical materials.

You will collaborate with Product Management, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Supplier Quality Engineers, define metrics, monitor scorecards, and lead cross-functional improvements with suppliers to meet Lam’s objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, or applied sciences with 8 years of experience; or 6 years and a Master's; or a Ph.D with 3 years.
• At least 5 years of working in the Semiconductor Equipment Industry, with global suppliers.
• Familiarity with semiconductors, electrical equipment, or high-technology supply chain practices and standards.
• Strong business acumen and excellent verbal and written communication across levels.

Responsibilities

• Define metrics and monitor supplier performance against scorecards to ensure continuous improvement.
• Improve procurement, inventory control, and manufacturing strategies, often with Strategic Commodity Managers.
• Motivate and drive improvements in suppliers’ manufacturing processes for quality, cost, and on-time delivery.
• Understand and govern factory management processes and supply chain governance.
• Set goals with suppliers to meet forecasted demand and maintain material delivery.
• Represent supplier business management on cross-functional teams to address supply challenges.
• Stay current on trends via industry reports and scientific literature.
• Collaborate with engineering and suppliers to resolve complex delivery issues.
• Develop presentations and process flows to support continuous improvement projects.
• Monitor product costs with suppliers to support cost reduction and prevent unfavorable variances.
