About the Role

As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will use your skills to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment. In addition to developing your skills, you will mentor junior technicians to grow in their roles.

Selection Process (Mechatronics & Robotics Technicians)

Timeframe: Approximately 30 days.

  1. Application submitted and reviewed; most qualified candidates invited to complete a pre-employment assessment.
  2. Eligible candidates receive an invitation to begin the Criteria assessment. You have 5 days to complete.
  3. Invited to a video interview via HireVue; you will have 7 days to record.
  4. Video interview reviewed by the Amazon Hiring Team; you will be notified of next steps via email within 5 business days.
Key Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
  • Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship across all of the Amazon Operations facility.
  • Track and store department inventory.
  • Move up to 49lbs and stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Shifts
  • Front Half Day Shift: 4 days on, 3 days off. Example pattern Sunday to Wednesday; 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM (10-hour shift) with a 30-minute break.
  • Back Half Day Shift: 4 days on, 3 days off. Typically Wednesday to Saturday; daytime hours (e.g., 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM) with a 30-minute break.
  • Front Half Night Shift: 4 days on, 3 days off. Example Sunday to Wednesday; 6:00 PM to 4:30 AM with a 30-minute break.
  • Back Half Night Shift: 4 days on, 3 days off. Typically Wednesday to Saturday; 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM with a 30-minute break.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office experience.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
  • 2+ years of predictive and preventative maintenance experience.
  • 2+ years of repairing material handling equipment (MHE), automated conveyor systems, or related mechanical/controls equipment experience.
  • 2+ years reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • 2+ years demonstrating safety standards experience.
  • 1+ year of troubleshooting and diagnostics of MHE.
  • Associates or higher in Mechanical or Electrical field preferred; or 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
  • Able to troubleshoot basic input and output in building operations.
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Continuous improvement mindset; willingness to learn and grow within Amazon RME.
  • Experience with MHE safety standards per OEM and safety standards.
  • 2+ years of experience with PLC-based controls systems.
  • 2+ years of knowledge in electrical and electronic principles.
  • Experience with robotic operation and maintenance.

Compensation and Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $57,720/year in our lowest geographic market up to $77,064/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on factors including market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Depending on the position, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total package.
