Job description

Job Title: Mechatronics & Robotics Technician (MRT)

New Journey, a Genesis10 company, is seeking a full-time Mechatronics & Robotics Technician (MRT) for our client. The position offers compensation of $25.79 per hour plus a $1/hr night differential.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform electrical and mechanical tasks on automated packaging and distribution equipment.
  2. Troubleshoot and repair control circuits, electrical distribution systems, and perform preventive/predictive maintenance.
  3. Promote a safe working environment by adhering to all safety procedures.
  4. Maintain and troubleshoot automated conveyor systems.
  5. Lead and audit preventive electrical/mechanical maintenance procedures.
  6. Diagnose and maintain PLC control systems (Allen Bradley).
  7. Install and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components, photo-eyes, motor starters, limit switches, proximity sensors, solenoids, etc.
  8. Use blueprints and schematics for maintenance tasks.
  9. Collaborate with all organizational levels to build relationships.
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.
  • Experience in repairing material handling equipment.
  • Experience with predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Experience in metal and wood fabrication.
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles.
  • Experience with procedure-based maintenance (PM).
  • Ability to interpret equipment run metrics such as OEE/Up Time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or higher degree in Mechanical or Electrical field from a vocational school or college.
  • Apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Mechanical or Electrical fields.
  • Knowledge of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards per OEM and safety standards.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Knowledge of computer networking systems.
  • Experience with robotic or electromechanical operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot input/output functions and logical devices.
  • Basic proficiency with Linux command line interface.
