Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician to join our Operations Maintenance team in Joliet, Illinois. You will maintain, repair, and install material handling, automated packaging, and distribution equipment across the facility, focusing on preventative maintenance and reliability.

This role requires hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, reading blueprints and schematics, and mentoring junior technicians while upholding safety procedures in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years repairing material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyor systems and controls.
• 2+ years of predictive and preventative maintenance experience.
• 1+ year of reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
• 1+ year of hands-on knowledge of electrical and electronic principles.
• Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components, including belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and sensors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
• Associate’s degree or higher from a vocational school or college in a Mechanical or Electrical field.
• Experience working with MHE safety standards in accordance with OEM and safety regulations.
• Experience with robotic operation and maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic input/output (I/O) functions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and install material handling and automated packaging equipment across the facility.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to ensure reliability and uptime.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems to identify and fix issues.
• Mentor junior technicians while supporting safe warehouse operations.

Job Description

The Mechatronics & Robotics Technician supports the Operations Maintenance team by maintaining, repairing, and installing material handling, automated packaging, and distribution equipment throughout the facility. This role focuses on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, mentoring junior technicians, and supporting safe, efficient warehouse operations.
