Job summary

Amazon is hiring a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems across the facility. You will install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment while mentoring junior technicians.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years on MHE maintenance, reading blueprints, and safety-focused practice, with a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office and applications.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, holidays.
• Certification from Amazon's Mechatronics and Robotics Apprenticeship Program, or 2+ years in automated conveyor systems and controls.
• 2+ years of experience performing predictive and preventative maintenance.
• 2+ years reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
• 2+ years demonstrating safety standards.
• 2+ years troubleshooting material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment by following safety procedures.
• Complete preventative maintenance with proper documentation.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical problems related to MHE (belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, etc.).
• Maintain positive relationships across Amazon Operations facilities.
• Be able to move up to 49 lbs, stand/walk up to 12 hours, climb ladders, bend, lift, reach.

About the Role

As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will use your skills to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment. In addition to developing your skills, you will mentor junior technicians to grow in their roles.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
• Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including belts, motors, photo‑eyes, relays, and more.
• Maintain a positive working relationship across all of the Amazon Operations facility.
• Be able to move up to 49 lbs, stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, climb ladders and gangways safely, and perform regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.

Basic Qualifications

• High school or equivalent diploma.
• 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• Certification from Amazon's Mechatronics and Robotics Apprenticeship Program, or 2+ years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.
• 2+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
• 2+ years of experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
• 2+ years of experience demonstrating safety standards.
• 2+ years of experience troubleshooting and diagnosing material handling equipment (MHE).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with robotic operation and maintenance.
• 2+ years of experience with electrical and electronic principles.
• Associate's degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
• 2+ years of mechanical or electrical apprenticeship experience.

The starting pay for this position is $31.00 per hour (up to $32.00 depending on shift).
