Job summary

Jefferson Community College seeks a full-time tenure-track Lecturer of Mechatronics to launch and shape the new Mechatronics program in the STEM, Health Professions, and Business Division. The role involves teaching in-demand topics such as PLCs, sensors, robotics, and electromechanical systems, while aligning curricula with industry standards.

The incumbent will foster a learner-centered environment, assess outcomes, advise students, and build internship opportunities through industry

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field; two (2) years of industry or teaching experience.
Must complete NC3 training and credentials and/or Snap-on Tools certifications within 9 months of hire; professional development costs covered.

Responsibilities

Teach 18 contact hours or 15 credit hours per semester with 7 office hours weekly.
Develop and revise curricula and syllabi to align with industry standards.
Utilize instructional technologies (D2L Brightspace, Amatrol LMS) to enhance learning.
Advise students on academic and career pathways and cultivate internships and job placements.
Assess student learning outcomes at course and program levels to drive improvement.
Engage with industry and community partners to support program goals.
