Job summary

JB Poindexter & Co is seeking a hands-on Mechatronics Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our Corporate Engineering and Product Development team. This role blends mechanical design with electrical system integration for commercial vehicle applications.

The ideal candidate will design in SolidWorks, support prototype builds, and collaborate with software and controls teams. Experience with C#, C++, or Python is a plus, as is familiarity with vehicle networks such as CAN/J1939.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical or related field.
• 5+ years in mechanical design, product development, vehicle systems, automation, or mechatronic systems.
• Strong SolidWorks design experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical and mechatronic systems for commercial vehicle applications using SolidWorks.
• Create CAD models, drawings, and documentation applying GD&T and DFM/DFA.
• Integrate mechanical systems with electrical hardware and harnesses.
• Collaborate with electrical/controls/software teams for system integration.
• Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and production release.
• Lead cross-functional projects from concept to production with mentoring.
