Harrison Clarke are partnered with an ambitious, early-stage robotics startup developing innovative automation technology for warehouse fulfilment and picking. The company is building robotic systems that automate repetitive, labour-intensive warehouse processes, combining autonomous navigation with remote human operation to deliver practical solutions today while continuously improving robot performance and autonomy.
With a lean, hands-on engineering team, the company is now focused on building, integrating and refining its robotic platform in-house. This is an opportunity to join at a pivotal stage, working closely with the founding team to solve complex hardware challenges and help bring next-generation robotic systems into real-world customer environments.
Responsibilities
- Build and integrate robots: Assemble and integrate components including robotic arms, mobile bases, lifting mechanisms, cameras, end effectors and supporting hardware into a cohesive robotic platform.
- Refine mechanical designs: Use CAD and practical engineering judgement to improve component design, fit, functionality, durability and ease of assembly.
- Prototype and iterate: Work hands-on with 3D printing, machining and physical prototyping to test ideas, troubleshoot issues and rapidly develop improved hardware.
- Improve electrical systems: Help organise, integrate and refine electrical components, wiring and associated systems to improve reliability and maintainability.
- Stabilise the existing platform: Address known hardware issues, improve camera mounting and robotic arm integration, and resolve problems affecting the performance of the current prototype.
- Develop future robot iterations: Use lessons from testing and customer deployments to inform design changes and make subsequent builds more reliable, robust and repeatable.
- Solve real-world robotics challenges: Investigate issues involving end effectors, component integration and physical task execution, developing practical solutions that improve robot performance.
- Bridge hardware and software: Work alongside robotics software engineers to ensure the physical system integrates effectively with the wider robotics stack. Contribute to software-related challenges when needed.
- Support deployment readiness: Help ensure the robotic platform is sufficiently stable, reliable and practical for operation in customer warehouse environments.
