Job summary

Nordson Electronics Solutions in Carlsbad, CA, is seeking an experienced engineer to evaluate mechatronic systems within an interdisciplinary team, contributing technical feedback for design improvements.

Job Summary

Responsible for evaluating mechatronic systems as part of an interdisciplinary team with the expectation of providing technical feedback and suggestions for improvement. May include mix of analog and digital design working with microcontrollers, sensors, and associated firmware and software. This position works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Primary duties initially will be supporting Sr. Engineers in running tests and gathering data to inform design decisions.
• Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
• Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
• Devises new approaches to problems encountered as appropriate
• Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
• May also review vendor capability to support development.

Education and Experience Requirements

Requires a BS EE or similar degree with applicable experience. 0 -4 years applicable experience.

Skills And Abilities

Ability to design systems that include mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software integration with support from interdisciplinary team. Ability write code with the expectation to build skills to keep current with industry trends. Fundamental understanding of electrical and physics disciplines. Working knowledge of AI / Machine Learning is a benefit.

Salary range for this position is: $85,000 to $127,000 annually.

The base pay range for this job level is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, business considerations, and local market conditions, as well as candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, and skills.
