Job summary

Hummingbird Scientific is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to join our team and contribute to instrumentation for scientific research. You will own the design and testing of complete mechanical and mechatronics systems from concept through release.

We value professionals with strong CAD skills (SolidWorks), GD&T, and hands-on electronics experience. The role is on-site in Lacey, WA, with a path toward impactful, production-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• Design, build and test integrated mechatronics systems.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles (kinematics, dynamics).
• 2D/3D CAD expertise (SolidWorks or equivalent).
• Proficiency with mechanical drawings and GD&T.
• Understanding of electronics design, testing, and hands-on electrical systems implementation.
• Ability to own projects and timelines.

• Take full ownership of designing and testing complete mechanical/mechatronics systems from concept to release.

As a Mechatronics Engineer at HummingbirdScientific, you'll be a part of a global engineering team. You'll take fullownership of designing and testing complete mechanical / mechatronics systems -from initial concept through final release and product testing.

Requirements

KeyQualifications:

• Demonstratedexperience in designing, building and testing integrated mechatronics systems
• Strongunderstanding of mechanical design principles (Kinematics, Dynamics, SystemDesign)
• 2D/3D CADexpertise - SolidWorks or equivalent
• Proficiency withmechanical drawings and GD&T
• Understanding of electronics, electronicsdesign, testing, and hands-on electrical systems implementation.
• Committedindividual who takes ownership of projects and timeline

Educationand Experience:

• BS in Mechatronics orMechanical Engineering, MS or PhD is a plus
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in industry with product development and system design
• Professional experience in LabVIEW or equivalentproduct software development

Optional Qualifications:

• Background in precision engineering is aplus
