Mechatronic Lab Technician

Location: Weilheim (near Munich), Germany

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with mechanical designers, automation specialists, and software engineers to assemble and support prototype precision modules developed by internal engineering teams.
• Take responsibility for the commissioning of materials, tooling, metrology equipment, and laboratory workstations.
• Build and configure temporary test stations and perform the mechanical integration of mechatronic modules.
• Support module verification activities, test procedure deployment, and performance analysis experiments.
• Contribute to root cause investigations, failure analysis, and the identification of improvement opportunities.
• Actively participate in laboratory administration and maintain 5S standards within the lab environment.
• Document findings, test results, and observations, providing clear reports to module owners and project managers.

To be considered you will need the following:

• Completed qualification in Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience working within an industrial automation or process automation laboratory environment.
• Strong hands-on expertise in the design and construction of temporary workstations and the assembly of precision mechanical modules.
• Proven experience in planning, installing, and commissioning pneumatic and vacuum systems, including associated control systems.
• Proficient in mechanical CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or similar platforms.
• Experience with 3D printing technologies, including SLS and SLA processes.
• A collaborative team player with a proactive approach to working in cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in both English and German.
• Strong reporting skills and a solid understanding of roles and responsibilities (R&R) within project environments.
