Job summary

Coram AI seeks a Design Engineer to own the mechanical and electromechanical design of next‑gen security and edge‑AI systems. You’ll bridge industrial design, manufacturing, and field deployment, integrating compute, power, and connectivity in rugged environments.

Take ideas from concept through production and scale hardware globally. Requirements include a Bachelor’s in engineering, 2–5 years in hardware development, strong CAD (Fusion 360/SolidWorks), and DFM/DFI experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 2–5 years of electromechanical or hardware product development experience.
• Strong CAD proficiency (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
• DFM/DFI experience and understanding of manufacturing techniques for sheet metal and injection molding.
• Working knowledge of thermal, vibration, and environmental design considerations.
• Resilient in challenging and fast-paced environments.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Ability to work in an onsite environment - we move quicker when we're in the same room.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and validation of electromechanical assemblies balancing performance, manufacturability, and cost
• Own the full product lifecycle from prototype through EVT/DVT/PVT, vendor handoff, and field deployment
• Manage vendor and supplier relationships to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery
• Be a proactive self-starter: take initiative, act with urgency, and bring a scrappy, hands-on approach to problem solving in fast-moving environments
• Drive execution across multiple workstreams with urgency and accountability
