Job summary

Furlani Foods in Oak Creek, WI is seeking a Mechanically Trained Operator for our new state-of-the-art bakery. You will operate high-speed packaging equipment, perform setups, and monitor performance to meet targets.

Position includes shift premiums, 2nd/3rd shifts, and opportunities for training travel across North America. A strong mechanical aptitude and CMMS experience are valued in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years in a manufacturing setting (preferably high-speed packaging).
• Ability to perform minor mechanical repairs/adjustments.
• Proficiency in English (written & verbal).
• Experience with CMMS (EAM) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate high-speed packaging and production equipment to meet production targets.
• Perform setups, changeovers, and adjustments for optimal efficiency.
• Diagnose and resolve minor mechanical issues; escalate complex problems as needed.
• Log downtime, repairs, and performance in CMMS (EAM).
• Follow safety and food-safety standards (OSHA, GMP, SQF, HACCP).

Salary

$22.50 - $24.90 per hour

Shift Premiums

+1.50 (2nd shift) | +3.00 (3rd shift)

Shift Schedules

• 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday | 2 PM - 11 PM
• 3rd Shift: Sunday - Thursday | 10 PM - 7 AM

What You’ll Do

Operate & Monitor Equipment

• Operate high-speed packaging and production equipment to meet production targets.
• Perform setups, changeovers, and adjustments for optimal efficiency.

Troubleshoot & Maintain

• Diagnose and resolve minor mechanical issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
• Perform inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and basic repairs.
• Assist with preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.

Collaborate & Communicate

• Partner with the Packaging Lead and Maintenance Team on equipment performance.
• Provide feedback and suggest workflow improvements.

Ensure Safety & Compliance

• Follow OSHA, GMP, SQF, and HACCP standards.
• Participate in safety programs and hazard reporting.

Track & Report

• Log downtime, repairs, and performance in CMMS (EAM).
• Report throughput, material usage, and waste metrics.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Equipment Uptime: Minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
• Production Efficiency: Meet or exceed production targets.
• Safety Compliance: Maintain strict safety and food safety standards.
• Operational Reliability: Proactively address equipment issues and improvements.

What We’re Looking For

• 1-2 years in a manufacturing setting (preferably high-speed packaging).
• Ability to perform minor mechanical repairs/adjustments.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with high-speed equipment & maintenance tools.
• CMMS (EAM) experience preferred.
• High School diploma or GED (technical certification a plus).
• Proficiency in English (written & verbal).
