Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. is seeking a mechanical/utilities engineer for full-time employment. Responsibilities include surveying food and beverage plants and utility systems, and developing project documentation such as drawings, P&IDs, equipment schedules, and specifications.

You will select and apply system equipment and coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, at least five years of experience, and a PE license.

Qualifications

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is experiencing unprecedented growth. As a result, we have a full‑time position available for a mechanical/utilities engineer. Responsibilities include conducting job‑site surveys of food and beverage plants and utility systems; developing project documentation including drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&I D's), equipment schedules, details, specifications, scope of work, etc.; selecting and applying system equipment to new and existing systems; and coordinating technical specifications, delivery requirements, and quotation parameters with outside equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and clients. Frequent (30‑40%) travel will be required.

Successful Candidate Must Have All of the Following:

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering
• At least five years of relevant mechanical engineering experience
• PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in other states

Ideal Candidate Will Have Any/All of the Following:

• Experience with food plant projects
• HVAC experience
• Experience developing piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&I D's) for food and/or industrial projects
• Chilled water/hydronic design experience
• Familiarity with managing project invoices
• Experience mentoring less experienced staff
