What this job involves:

As a Mechanical Trade Team Leader at JLL, you will serve as both a technical expert and team coordinator responsible for leading mechanical maintenance operations across large-scale manufacturing facilities. This hands‑on leadership role combines advanced mechanical troubleshooting and repair with team coordination responsibilities, ensuring the reliable operation of building systems, manufacturing process equipment, and mechanical infrastructure. You'll provide specialized skill sets while guiding fellow mechanics, coordinating work assignments, and serving as the technical point of contact for facility and operations managers. We believe the most effective teams are built when everyone is empowered to thrive, and your leadership will be essential in mentoring team members, sharing technical expertise, and ensuring efficient completion of mechanical maintenance assignments. You'll work in a dynamic environment where your hands‑on technical capabilities with HVAC systems, pumps, motors, hydraulics, and building automation systems directly impact production continuity and equipment reliability while developing your team's skills and performance. This position offers opportunities to develop leadership skills, work with advanced mechanical systems, and advance within JLL's operations network while supporting world‑class manufacturing operations.

What your day‑to‑day will look like:

  • Perform and oversee maintenance and repairs on manufacturing process equipment including cold/hot thermal units with temperature control, pressure control, and dew point control systems

  • Execute and supervise preventative maintenance (scheduled maintenance to prevent breakdowns) and predictive maintenance (using equipment or tests to predict when maintenance will be needed) on building systems and mechanical equipment

  • Maintain and repair HVAC/R systems including heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration, indoor air quality, temperature control, and scavenge exhaust systems

  • Service and troubleshoot pumps, motors, speed and feed systems, hydraulics, backflow preventers, and natural gas/water meters including calibration

  • Serve as technical point of contact for facility and operations managers, communicating work progress, challenges, and resource needs

  • Mentor and train mechanics on proper procedures, safety protocols, and troubleshooting techniques to enhance team capabilities and technical proficiency while ensuring compliance with client scorecard metrics

Required Qualifications:

  • Journeyman certification required in HVAC, Electrical, Machine Repair, or Mechanical craft areas

  • Minimum 3‑5 years of facility maintenance experience in industrial or manufacturing environments with demonstrated technical proficiency

  • Strong hands‑on experience with pumps, motors, speed and feed systems, and hydraulics

  • Demonstrated proficiency with HVAC/R systems including heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration, indoor air quality, and temperature control

  • Proven ability to coordinate work activities, provide technical guidance, and communicate effectively with team members and management

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with detail‑oriented approach

  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work on ladders, operate hand and power tools, and work in various environmental conditions

  • Availability to work overtime, weekends, and pre/post scheduled hours as needed

  • Available for call‑in work 24 hours per day and able to work in all weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in team lead, lead mechanic, or similar coordination role
