Electrical Trade Team Leader – JLL 2nd Shift

What this job involves: As an Electrical Trade Team Leader at JLL, you will serve as both a technical expert and team coordinator responsible for leading electrical maintenance operations across large‑scale manufacturing facilities. This hands‑on leadership role combines advanced electrical troubleshooting and repair with team coordination responsibilities, ensuring the reliable operation of industrial electrical equipment and power distribution systems. You’ll maximize "wrench time" while guiding fellow electricians, coordinating work assignments, and serving as the technical point of contact for supervisors and facility management. We believe the most effective teams are built when everyone is empowered to thrive, and your leadership will be essential in mentoring team members, sharing technical expertise, and ensuring efficient completion of electrical maintenance assignments. You’ll collaborate with maintenance supervisors, facility coordinators, and client operations to implement preventive maintenance strategies, resolve complex electrical challenges, and maintain the highest standards of safety and quality. This position offers opportunities to develop leadership skills, work with advanced electrical systems, and advance within JLL's operations network while supporting world‑class manufacturing operations.

What your day‑to‑day will look like:

Lead and coordinate electrical maintenance team activities, including daily work assignments, task prioritization, and resource allocation to ensure efficient completion of maintenance objectives. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical/instrumentation/control building equipment and systems required to operate large manufacturing facilities while providing technical guidance to team members. Plan and execute assembly, installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of electrical apparatus, control equipment, and industrial power distribution systems including generating equipment, panels, automatic switches, variable frequency drives, circuit breakers, transformers, substations, and alarms. Diagnose and correct faulty wiring or electrical difficulties in motors and other equipment while reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematic drawings. Serve as technical point of contact for maintenance supervisors and facility management, communicating work progress, challenges, and resource needs. Mentor and train electricians on proper procedures, safety protocols, and troubleshooting techniques to enhance team capabilities and technical proficiency. Document all work performed accurately in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) including hours required and completion details by required deadlines, and ensure team members maintain proper documentation standards.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or state equivalent required
  • Two years of electrical trade schooling or equivalent training/apprenticeship
  • Minimum 3-5 years of electrical maintenance experience in industrial or manufacturing environments with demonstrated technical proficiency
  • Strong knowledge of electrical/instrumentation/control systems in industrial or manufacturing facilities
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematic drawings
  • Proven ability to coordinate work activities, provide technical guidance, and communicate effectively with team members and management
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and local electrical codes
  • Skilled and physically able to operate electric hand tools, work on ladders, carry tools, lift and carry heavy loads, and operate required equipment
  • Ability to work in confined spaces (closets, crawl spaces, attics, vaults) and on building roofs
  • Available for call‑in work 24 hours per day and able to work in all weather conditions
  • Availability to work overtime, weekends, and pre/post scheduled hours as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent industrial electrical certification
  • Previous experience in team lead, lead electrician, or similar coordination role
  • Experience with complex electrical systems in pharmaceutical, automotive, or large‑scale manufacturing facilities
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and digital work order documentation
  • Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and building automation systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to produce clear oral and written reports and effectively communicate with diverse teams
