Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Marietta, GA is seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer to plan, implement, test, document, and maintain integration test solutions for in-house and COTS/GOTS components and subsystems.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical, Materials, or Aeronautical engineering or related field, plus five years of mechanical testing experience. Willingness to work extended shifts and in-lab environment; ability to lift 10 lbs; familiarity with MIL/ASTM specifications is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Aeronautical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Willing to support extended and off shift work and on-call requirements.
  • Laboratory environment work by themselves or with team members.
  • Five years of mechanical testing experience including tensile, compressive, and fatigue testing.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, test, document, and maintain integration tests for in-house and COTS/GOTS components and subsystems.
  • Review requirements and develop test plans, procedures, and schedules for complete systems.
  • Coordinate subsystem and system testing activities with programs and other organizations.
  • Analyze test results and prepare evaluation reports to verify and validate performance.
  • Write discrepancy reports and perform integration regression testing to verify fixes.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or related engineering or science degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • Willing to support extended and off shift work schedules and on-call requirements
  • Willing and able to work in a laboratory environment by themselves or with other team members
  • Five years of mechanical testing experience including tensile, compressive, and fatigue testing.
  • Ability to lift 10 lbs.
Desired Skills
  • Hands on experience working in a lab environment performing mechanical testing
  • Familiar with reading and following MIL, ASTM, and proprietary specifications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Experience developing test fixutres and testing requirements for to perform unique one off mechanical tests
  • Experience working with and trouble shooting MTS universal machines
  • Experience programming environmental test chambers
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
