Job summary

CTL|Thompson, Inc. in Fort Collins, CO is seeking a Mechanical Staff Engineer for full‑time work in our Fort Collins office.

The role involves laboratory and field product testing, inspection of manufacturing facilities, and designing fixturing and testing apparatus. Responsibilities include conducting tests on UTM and torsion benches, scoping testing, preparing project documents and client deliverables, and visiting sites for validation testing, with safety best practices and ISO17025

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or related engineering field required.
• EIT designation or ability to obtain it within 6 months for employees with qualifying degree.
• 0-5 years of relative engineering experience.
• At least 6 months of experience in an Engineering Field Technician position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct product testing on UTM and torsion bench and proprietary systems.
• Perform test scoping and quality evaluations of testing processes.
• Design fixturing for oddly shaped product samples.
• Fabricate fixturing or arrange fabrication as necessary.
• Prepare project documents, testing reports and deliverables for clients.
• Visit construction sites to perform validation testing on foundations and ensure safety.
• Develop engineering recommendations for senior review.
• Use relevant software to aid project analysis.
• Develop, fabricate, assemble, wire, program testing equipment as needed.
• Operate within an ISO17025 laboratory quality system.
• Perform and review field and lab tests for engineering analyses.
• Visit client manufacturing facilities to audit quality systems.
