About Us

Insteel Industries, established in 1953 and headquartered in Mount Airy, NC, is the nation's largest manufacturer of steel wire reinforcing products for concrete construction. Our products include prestressed concrete (PC) strand, welded wire reinforcement, engineered structural mesh, and concrete pipe reinforcement, used in large infrastructure projects across the country. About You

We are looking for someone with a strong foundation in industrial maintenance, good judgment, initiative, and the ability to handle complex machinery. Experience working with machinery is preferred.

Position Snapshot

A maintenance technician should understand how machinery operates, be able to troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues, and perform preventive maintenance. Training will be provided in various maintenance areas. Success in this role involves:

• Troubleshooting, dismantling, repairing, and reassembling machinery and equipment
• Assisting with preventive maintenance
• Repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Operating welding equipment
• Conducting equipment inspections
• Using computer systems to document maintenance activities
• Collaborating with team members
• Practicing safety protocols and PPE guidelines
• Working effectively within a team environment

Requirements and Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 3 years of industrial maintenance experience
• Ability to understand and complete simple forms and instructions
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive pay up to $32.00/hr with Pay for Skills Program
• Weekend shift premium of $2.00/hr
