Maintenance Technician

About Us

Insteel Industries, established in 1953 and headquartered in Mount Airy, NC, is the nation's largest manufacturer of steel wire reinforcing products for concrete construction. We produce prestressed concrete (PC) strand, welded wire reinforcement, engineered structural mesh, concrete pipe reinforcement, and standard welded wire reinforcement. Our products are used in large infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, and parking garages. Join our team and make an impact on the country's infrastructure.

Schedule

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 7:00 am - 7:00 pm

About You

We seek a candidate with a strong foundation in maintenance within an industrial setting, good judgment, initiative, and experience working with machinery.

Position Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, dismantle, repair, and reassemble machinery and equipment
• Assist with preventative maintenance
• Repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Operate welding equipment
• Conduct equipment inspections
• Use computer systems for maintenance tracking
• Work safely, following PPE and safety standards
• Collaborate effectively within a team

Requirements and Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years industrial maintenance experience
• Ability to understand and complete simple forms and instructions
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals

Compensation and Benefits

• Up to $32.00/hour, with Pay for Skills Program
• $2.00/hour weekend shift premium
• Work 36 hours, paid for 40 hours
• Performance-based bonuses
