Job summary

Phillips 66 is seeking a Mechanical Technician to maintain and repair engines, compressors and related equipment across the Panhandle Midstream region. You’ll perform overhauls, alignments, testing and startups to ensure safe, reliable operations, with duties spanning troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

Based in Perryton or Canadian, TX, you’ll meet qualifications including a high school diploma, valid license, and willingness to work variable hours near multiple reporting locations.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Within 30 miles of Perryton, Spearman, Canadian, or Booker, TX.
• Willing to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Able to work outdoors/in heat or humidity.
• Climb stairs and ladders (including A-frame).
• Lift up to 50 pounds; push/pull up to 130 pounds.
• Walk/stand/squat for short durations; wear PPE.
• Work around rotating or moving equipment.

The Mechanical Technician, Panhandle Midstream performs complex mechanical functions and duties including inspecting, checking, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing mechanical equipment to maintain safe and reliable equipment performance.

This position can be based out of Perryton or Canadian, TX, maintaining assets across the region.

What You’ll Do

• Perform maintenance and repairs on engines, compressors and associated components, such as compressor valves, spark plugs, cooling and lubrication systems (auxiliary)
• Perform overhaul of compressors and engines/engine swings, including foundation work, initial alignment, testing, and startup
• Ensure the safe, effective and efficient performance of maintenance and operation activities in accordance with Company standards and regulatory guidelines
• Comply with company policies, procedures and directives
• Perform work on air pollution control equipment
• Perform required preventive and corrective maintenance on various types of equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations
• Identify maintenance work and initiating work requests
• Drive a company owned vehicle within assigned area
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems
• Provides Quality Assurance/Quality Control over 3rd Party contractors performing major maintenance

What You’ll Bring - Required

• Legally authorized to work in the United States

• Valid Driver’s License
• Currently live, or willing to relocate if selected, within 30 miles of one of the reporting locations (Spearman, Perryton, Canadian, or Booker, TX)
• Willing and able to perform/comply with the following, with or without reasonable accommodation:
• Work extended hours which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays AND be available for callout
• Work either inside or outside in conditions that may include heat, humidity, or other inclement weather.
• Climb various stairs and ladders, including A-frame
• Frequently lift and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds
• Push/pull forces up to 130 pounds
• Regularly walk, stand, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch for durations of up to 3 minutes
• Wear personal protective equipment, such as flame-retardant clothing, eye protection, ear protection, steel-toed boots, hard hat, etc.
• Safely work around various types of rotating or moving equipment

What Makes You Stand Out - Preferred

Compensation Range

This position has a base salary range of $65,000 – $105,820.

Midstream

The Phillips 66 Midstream business is a safe, reliable, and trusted provider for the movement, storage, gathering, and processing of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 70,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities. Our capabilities include extensive natural gas gathering and processing operations, enhancing our wellhead-to-market strategy. We also provide the connectivity between the various Phillips 66 business units.
