Job summary

NCBiotech is seeking a Mechanical Technician II to build and repair parts and assemblies on a manufacturing floor in Raleigh, NC. You will read diagrams, follow detailed instructions, and ensure parts meet quality standards while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The role requires attention to detail, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to work both independently and in teams. Prior training and a high school diploma are preferred for this position.

Position Summary

The Mechanical Technician ll works with a variety of tools and machinery to make or repair parts, components, sub-assemblies, and complete systems. The ability to comprehend and follow detailed verbal or written instructions, as well as diagrams, blueprints, and other technical documents is a critical part of the position.

Technicians must have an aptitude for mechanics and an eye for detail. The Mechanical Technician ll ensures that all parts and products under their care are in proper working order and meet the quality standards of the company and industry.

  • Install mechanical and electrical parts and hardware in housings or assemblies

  • Ability to adhere to TARGAN and industry best practice safety requirements

  • Must have good eyesight, including depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to differentiate between colors
  • Understanding of pneumatic components preferred
  • Understanding of electrical schematics preferred
Education and Experience Requirements
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Technician or similar role required
  • High school diploma and related training preferred
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups and other employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret charts and graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to solve problems involving known and unknown variables in existing and new situations.
Working Conditions:

The employee is required to stand and/or sit while performing repetitive tasks for extended periods of time. The employee must frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception. Work is performed on a manufacturing floor. Employee must follow proper safety protocols.
