Mechanical Technician B

Position Objective

Ensure production equipment operates efficiently by performing equipment maintenance on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
• Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
• Seeking a self‑motivated, experienced and dedicated individual.
• Must be able to work 12‑hour shifts.

Job Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical problems on industrial equipment (including extruders).
• Perform routine preventative maintenance.
• Mechanical tasks: troubleshoot and repair gear boxes; troubleshoot and replace bearings, chains, belts and pulleys; MIG weld, Stick weld, drill and tap threaded holes; read mechanical prints.
• Electrical tasks: troubleshoot and replace AC and DC drives, temperature controls, start/stop electrical controls; troubleshoot PLC's; replace and wire 3‑phase motors; troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits; read electrical, building, machine and flow diagram prints.
• Basic plumbing skills, knowledge of fittings and thread types.
• Complies with all safety rules and procedures.
• Maintains and completes all required records.
• Individual must be available to work overtime as needed.
• Performs other duties as required, or assigned by Supervisor.
