JLL in Lansing, MI is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to keep client facilities safe, functional, and well maintained. You will perform lighting, basic plumbing and carpentry, and support operations by maintaining building systems and responding to service requests.

This role involves physical work, outdoor exposure, and a strong commitment to safety, with Maximo CMMS involvement and a 3rd shift.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Experience with basic building maintenance and repair tasks.
• Ability to work outdoors and in mechanical spaces; exposure to extreme weather.
• Valid driver's license (if applicable to site requirements).
• Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
• Regular and predictable attendance.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain and replace lighting systems, including bulbs and ballasts.
• Perform minor plumbing, carpentry, and general building repairs.
• Assist operations team with maintenance of building equipment and systems.
• Complete tenant service requests, including hanging pictures and repairing office furniture.
• Move office furniture and equipment as needed.
• Maintain and manage Maximo routes and enter work orders accurately.
• Maintain records of completed work in a neat and organized manner.
• Adhere to safety policies for hazardous materials.

Facilities Maintenance Technician - JLL

What this job involves:

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician at JLL, you will play a critical role in maintaining the operational excellence of our client's facilities. This hands-on position focuses on ensuring building systems, equipment, and environments remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. Your work will directly contribute to creating productive workspaces and delivering exceptional client service, supporting JLL's commitment to operational excellence and client satisfaction

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Maintain and replace lighting systems, including bulbs and ballasts
• Perform minor plumbing, carpentry, and general building repairs
• Assist the operations team with maintenance and repair of building equipment and systems
• Complete tenant service requests, including hanging pictures, installing keyboard trays, and repairing office furniture
• Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and materials as requested
• Perform lawn and grounds maintenance to ensure site appearance standards
• Complete special tasks including painting, locksmith work, and special cleaning projects
• Set up and maintain Maximo routes and perform accurate data entry for work orders
• Maintain records for completed work in a neat and organized manner
• Comply with policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials
• Attend safety training and maintain a clean and safe work environment

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds
• Experience with basic building maintenance and repair tasks
• Ability to work outdoors and in mechanical/equipment rooms, including exposure to extreme weather conditions
• Valid driver's license (if applicable to site requirements)
• Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures
• Regular and predictable attendance to support team and client needs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), preferably Maximo
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Previous experience in commercial building maintenance
• Familiarity with locksmith work and painting techniques
• Understanding of hazardous material handling and disposal procedures

This position requires working outdoors, in mechanical/equipment rooms, and possible extreme weather conditions. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock (high voltage), and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
