Qualifications

  • Previous mechanical experience REQUIRED, repairing or building small engines, cars, motors, pumps, or facility maintenance.
  • Know your way around hand tools and measuring devices (caliper, micrometer, tape).
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits safely and perform repairs.
  • Must have your own tools and be mechanically inclined.
  • Detail oriented with a good attitude and teamwork mindset.
  • Capable of lifting 40 pounds; read OEM manuals and technical literature.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanically assemble electrical components for motor control centers and switchgear.
  • Disassemble and reassemble for reconditioning/remanufacturing breakers from 480v to 15kv.
  • Install internal components and perform control and power wiring.
  • Test power transformers and relays using megger, TTR, and Power Factor.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and safety in the work area.

Job Summary

Excellent direct hire opportunity for individuals with a strongmechanicalbackground (i.e. diesel techs, maintenance mechanics, automotive techs) with an industry leading circuit breaker repair company based in the Sumner area. Breaker Techs are responsible for repairing, upgrading, reconditioning, and re-manufacturing mechanical and electrical equipment from a single circuit breaker to a complete substation.

Job Description

Mechanically assemble electrical components for use in motor control centers / switchgear and various other applications. Disassemble and reassemble for reconditioning / remanufacturing 480v to 15kv circuit breakers. Includes assembly of metal housing components, installation of internal components (starters, contactors, overloads, circuit breakers, transformers, terminal strips et cetera) as well as control and power wiring intermediate to the components. Perform testing on power transformers by megger, TTR and Power Factor. Test relays by primary and secondary injection.

Qualifications
  • Previous mechanical experience REQUIRED, must have experience repairing or building small engines, cars, motors, pumps, industrial or production facility maintenance, etc.
  • Know your way around hand tools (screwdrivers, ratchets/wrenches, impact drivers, electric drills, wire strippers, terminal crimpers, etc.)
  • Ability to maintain good housekeeping of designated work area.
  • Ability to use measuring tools (vernier caliper, micrometer, tape measure, etc.)
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits safely and make repairs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems and repair.
  • Capable of lifting 40-pounds safely.
  • Ability and willingness to read and study OEM manuals and technical literature.
  • Mechanically inclined, must have your own tools.
  • Detail oriented, great attitude, team player, well organized.
Position Requirements
  • Must be able to pass federal background check and drug screening.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the Unites States.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Working Conditions
  • Shift is Monday - Friday - 7am to 3:30pm with overtime and/or weekends as needed or required.
  • Candidate will work in a small shop environment, mostly in air-conditioned spaces.
  • Candidate should be able to lift 40 pounds safely.
  • Some regional and occasional overnight travel to affiliate companies and/or client job sites may be required.
