Job summary

Classic Collision is seeking a Body Shop Mechanic to contribute to our growing team in Florence, SC. You will inspect vehicles, diagnose issues, and perform repairs on brakes, engines, steering, and safety systems with attention to quality and safety.

Qualifications

• General automotive repair knowledge and experience.
• Ability to diagnose and repair vehicle systems.
• Familiarity with brake, electrical, and engine components.
• Strong problem solving and diagnostic skills.
• Good communication with customers and team members.
• ASE certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Examines vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
• Test drives vehicles and uses diagnostic equipment.
• Repair, align, replace, and adjust brake systems and perform alignments.
• Test and adjust repaired systems to meet specifications.
• Repair and/or replace engine components, brakes, steering, and airbags.
• Perform other duties to ensure efficient repairs.

Responsibilities

• Examines vehicles to determine extend of damage or malfunctions.
• Test drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using equipment such as computerized diagnostic devices.
• May repair, align, replace, and adjust brake systems and perform vehicle alignments.
• Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications.
• Repair and/or replace engine components, brake systems, steering and air bag systems.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure an efficient and effective repair.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Advance understanding and knowledge of the repair process/procedures
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under company insurance policy.
• Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are required.
• Organization and multi-tasking skills, good time management, and the ability to adapt easily to fast-paced environment.
• ASE Certification preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, and is required to talk and hear.
