Job summary

Requires 1+ year of aerospace assembly experience; willing to travel as needed. 1st and 2nd shift options exist; pay ranges from $22 to $50 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and checkout spacecraft assemblies from blueprints and specs.
• Interpret engineering drawings and procedures to ensure proper fit and function.
• Operate tools and equipment to support assembly and testing.
• Coordinate with Design/Manufacturing teams on quality and processes.
• Travel to support program needs as required.

Summary

Fabricate, assemble, install, test and checkout mechanical spacecraft assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly, integration and test procedures to complete space flight systems and support equipment.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, checkout and inspect mechanical spacecraft assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly, integration, and test procedures.
• Operate various materials handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lift equipment, flight vehicle and sub-assembly transportation equipment, truck/tractor trailer combinations and other GSE as required.
• Travel required to support operations identified by program being supported.
• Capable of operating a wide range of machine tools. Included but not limited to, drill press, grinders, chop saw, power, and hand tools.
• Perform orbital tube welding of propulsion lines
• Interfaces and/or works closely with Design and Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials, Procurement and Shipping personnel on procedural issues involving design, methods, tooling, cost, and other areas involved in the control of product quality.
