MTS Systems Corporation is seeking a hands-on Systems Engineering Technician to support the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and checkout of complex mechanical and hydro-mechanical test systems in Eden Prairie, MN. This role suits someone who enjoys building, problem-solving, and collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Mechanical assembly aptitude and hands-on technical ability.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering prints, work instructions, and test protocols.
• Experience in product assembly, R&D testing, hydraulic/hydro-mechanical systems preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and basic digital documentation tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and configure mechanical systems using drawings and BOMs.
• Perform system hook-up, tear down, rework, repair, and customer acceptance testing.
• Support operational testing to ensure systems meet quality and performance standards.
• Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with engineering to resolve problems.
• Maintain accurate documentation and implement drawing/BOM corrections.
• Support continuous improvement to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost.
