Job summary

MTS Systems Corporation in Eden Prairie, MN is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician to build and maintain hydraulics, mechanics, and precision tooling subsystems for our test and simulation technology.

You will assemble hydro-mechanical subsystems from engineering blueprints and BOMs, ensure quality and schedule adherence, and collaborate with engineers and customers to improve documentation and products. This role offers growth opportunities within ITW network.

Qualifications

• Two-year certification or 4+ years of related experience.
• Ability to read engineering documents and BOMs.
• Experience assembling hydro-mechanical subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Assemble hydro-mechanical subsystems per blueprints and BOMs.
• Meet quality, efficiency, and schedule standards.
• Interpret engineering documents to determine results.
• Use hand tools and basic measuring equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair subsystems incl. disassembly.
• Develop solutions to performance issues.
• Maintain documentation per MTS policies.
• Initiate modifications to docs.
• Participate in process and quality improvements.
• Communicate professionally with coworkers and customers.
• Develop skills assembling and testing products and participate in training.

We're looking for a Mechanical Assembly Technician to build and maintain the subsystems behind our test and simulation technology, working hands on with hydraulics, mechanics, and precision tooling in a role that offers real room to grow.

What You'll Do

• Assemble hydro-mechanical subsystems according to engineering blueprints, specifications, bills of materials, and manufacturing process documentation
• Meet standards for quality, efficiency, and schedule
• Interpret engineering documents to determine results and processes
• Use hand tools, specialized tooling, and basic measuring equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair new and customer hydro-mechanical subsystems, including disassembly and problem diagnosis
• Develop solutions and resolve performance issues
• Collaborate to maintain accuracy of documents and records per MTS policies
• Initiate modifications and improvements to engineering and manufacturing documentation
• Accurately execute the non-conforming materials process
• Participate in process and quality improvement activities
• Maintain professionalism and communicate effectively with coworkers, engineers, supervisors, and customers
• Actively develop skills assembling and testing MTS products and industry technology, and participate in required training

What You Bring

• Two-year certification from a college or trade school, or military training, in an applicable discipline (mechanics, hydraulics, electronics), or 4+ years of applicable experience in a related environment

Compensation Information

$23.70 - $28.75 commensurate with experience and qualifications
