Job summary

Qorvo, Inc. in Richardson, TX, is seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineering Technician to support operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of Deionized Water and Industrial Wastewater systems in our advanced semiconductor manufacturing facility.

The role requires hands-on experience with mechanical systems and a strong focus on safety and environmental compliance. The successful candidate will monitor performance, assist with installations, perform preventive maintenance, and collaborate

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6+ years of experience in mechanical systems maintenance, preferably in a semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of DIW and IWW systems, including water purification, chemical dosing, and wastewater treatment processes.
• Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor system performance and assist in data collection and analysis to ensure optimal operation and compliance with environmental regulations.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and system upgrades.
• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of DIW and IWW systems, including pumps, valves, filters, tanks, and instrumentation.
• Support system startups, shutdowns, and changeovers in coordination with engineering and operations teams.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, system performance, and incidents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including equipment engineering, EHS, and facilities operations.
• Respond to system alarms and emergencies, providing timely and effective resolution.
• Ensure adherence to all safety protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and regulatory requirements.
• Should have working knowledge of PVAC, PCW, ChW, Steam, HotW, and Exhaust (Acid, VOC, Caustic, General) Systems.
• Would also be called upon to fill in as an operator on an occasional basis
