Teledyne Brown Engineering in Huntsville, Alabama, is seeking a Systems / Mechanical Engineer to lead technical efforts and support complex mechanical systems. The role encompasses the entire product lifecycle from requirements to verification, focusing on both commercial and U.S. Government clients.
Ideal candidates will possess strong experience in systems and mechanical engineering, with skills in MBSE, technical presentation, and communication across multidisciplinary teams.
The Systems / Mechanical Engineer will serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert supporting the evaluation, definition, design, manufacture, and verification of complex mechanical systems, including nuclear and high‑consequence applications. The role focuses on end‑to‑end lifecycle execution—from requirements development through manufacture, test, and validation—serving both commercial and U.S. Government customers.
The position includes responsibilities in systems engineering, mechanical design, thermal and structural analysis, engineering trade studies, subsystem integration, and close collaboration with manufacturing and quality organizations. The engineer will employ Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to capture, decompose, and manage requirements, define system architectures and interfaces, and maintain end‑to‑end traceability across the product lifecycle.
The engineer will develop, manage, and decompose system and subsystem requirements; establish verification and validation requirements using Test, Analysis, Demonstration, and Inspection (TADI) methods; and prepare design and procurement specifications. The role also includes preparing technical presentations; conducting system requirements reviews, design reviews, manufacturing readiness reviews, and test readiness reviews; and briefing customers, senior and mid‑level leadership, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
Successful candidates will clearly communicate technical concepts and program status to engineering, manufacturing, test, quality assurance, and business office personnel, and will present well‑reasoned technical recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
