Job summary

iO Associates is seeking a Mechanical Systems Design Engineer for a specialist aircraft-completions organisation in Indianapolis. You will design, integrate and certify mechanical systems across bespoke VIP interior modification programmes.

You will work with Structures, Avionics, Certification and Production to convert concepts into practical, compliant installation solutions for aircraft.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or related discipline is required.
• 0-3 years' experience in aerospace engineering or aircraft mechanical systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support design and integration of mechanical systems for VIP aircraft interior completion projects.
• Produce and maintain engineering drawings, installation packages and technical reports.
• Assist with modification concepts, Engineering Orders and work instructions for installation teams.
• Work on aircraft utility systems such as environmental control, ventilation, cooling and fluid systems.
• Review maintenance manuals, service bulletins and airworthiness directives for modification impact.
• Investigate drawing/documentation conflicts and propose corrective actions.
• Contribute data to support STC and certification activities.
• Collaborate with Production and installation teams to respond to engineering queries.
