Job summary

Basis North America is seeking experienced Mechanical Steam Turbine Technicians / Millwrights to support a major industrial steam turbine project. This role focuses on hands-on maintenance, overhaul, troubleshooting, bearing and seal systems, lubrication, and rotating equipment.

Ideal candidates will have proven experience with turbine outages, valves and actuators, precision alignment, and field service during shutdowns. Willingness to travel and work in industrial facilities is essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with steam turbine systems and mechanical maintenance

• Proficiency in precision alignment and mechanical troubleshooting

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting on steam turbine systems
• Inspect, remove, repair, and reinstall turbine valve components
• Work on valve assemblies, stems, bushings, seals, and related components
• Troubleshoot and repair oil leaks from valve actuators and servo cylinders
• Maintain and inspect lube oil and control oil systems
• Inspect bearings and mechanical seals
• Support gland steam seal systems and condenser vacuum systems
• Inspect and replace piping, fittings, expansion joints, gaskets
• Perform disassembly, inspection, measurement, repair and reassembly of turbine components
• Use precision measuring tools and alignment equipment
• Read P&IDs, mechanical drawings, OEM procedures and work instructions
• Apply LOTO and site safety procedures
• Support shutdowns, cooldowns, maintenance, testing and return-to-service activities

Mechanical Steam Turbine Technician / Millwright

Basis North America is seeking experienced Mechanical Steam Turbine Technicians / Millwrights to support an upcoming industrial steam turbine project.

This opportunity is intended for professionals with strong hands‑on experience in steam turbine maintenance, overhaul, troubleshooting, valve systems, bearings, seals, lubrication systems, and rotating equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Selected personnel may support activities including:

• Mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting of steam turbine systems.
• Inspection, removal, repair, and reinstallation of steam turbine valve components.
• Work on ESV / trip valve assemblies, stems, bushings, rings, seals, and related mechanical components.
• Troubleshooting and repair of oil leaks involving valve actuators and servo‑cylinder assemblies.
• Maintenance and inspection of lube oil and control oil systems.
• Bearing inspection and troubleshooting.
• Steam turbine gland seal system support.
• Condenser vacuum system troubleshooting and mechanical support.
• Inspection and replacement of piping, fittings, expansion bellows, gaskets, and related components.
• Mechanical work involving pumps and associated rotating equipment.
• Disassembly, inspection, measurement, repair, and reassembly of turbine components.
• Use of precision measuring tools and alignment equipment.
• Reading and following P&IDs, mechanical drawings, OEM procedures, and work instructions.
• Application of LOTO and site safety procedures.
• Support during shutdown, cooldown, maintenance, testing, and return‑to‑service activities.

Required Experience

Candidates should have demonstrated hands‑on experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Steam turbines
• Steam turbine outages and overhauls
• Turbine valves and actuators
• Stop / control / trip valves
• Bearings and mechanical seals
• Lube oil and control oil systems
• Gland steam seal systems
• Pumps and rotating equipment
• Precision alignment
• Mechanical troubleshooting
• Turbine disassembly and reassembly
• Industrial shutdowns / outages

Preferred Background

Preference will be given to candidates with experience as:

Steam Turbine Mechanic, Millwright, Turbine Technician, Rotating Equipment Technician, Field Service Technician, Field Service Millwright, Lead Millwright, Mechanical Foreman, or Steam Turbine Field Service Technician.

Experience supporting OEM turbine equipment and industrial facilities such as power generation, pulp and paper, petrochemical, refining, LNG, or other heavy industrial environments is highly desirable.

Additional Requirements

Candidates must be comfortable working in an industrial field environment and following strict safety, quality, and site procedures.

Availability for project‑based field assignments and travel may be required depending on the final project schedule.
