Job summary

Smith & Loveless is hiring a Mechanical Routing Draftsman in Lenexa, KS. The role focuses on routing custom manufacturing orders through production, translating design concepts into precise routings for fabrication and installation.

You will collaborate with engineering and operations to ensure compliance with specifications and project requirements. The position requires reviewing drawings and BOMs, working with the configurator in MRP/ERP, and supporting changes through ECNs.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred; 2 years in a Manufacturing environment a plus.
• Experience with machine scheduling and BOM literacy required.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Proficient with MS Excel and basic formulas.
• Experience with an MRP/ERP system and configurator in an MRP.

Responsibilities

• Process jobs from Engineering to create routings for fabrication and assembly.
• Review Engineering BOM to ensure all requirements are included.
• Collaborate with Engineering to correct BOM/drawings.
• Modify Sales Order Configurations per production processes.
• Assist Engineering and Application Engineering with configurator updates and testing.
• Process ECNs requiring routing changes promptly.
• Support Production Planners with change orders for new part numbers.
• Assist with time studies and standards updates.
