Job summary

Global Edge Group is seeking a Mechanical Revit Designer for Houston, TX or Phoenix, AZ, on a 1-year rolling contract with hybrid work (3 days in-office, 2 days remote). The role focuses on developing detailed HVAC ductwork layouts and BIM models in Revit (MEP) up to LOD 400, coordinating with disciplines.

Candidates should have a mechanical/architectural engineering background and extensive Revit/BIM experience in complex facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor''s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering or related field.
• Minimum ten years'' experience with AutoCAD and BIM coordination platforms.
• Experience in building systems design for semiconductor, life sciences/pharma, data centers, or industrial facilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed HVAC ductwork layouts and 3D BIM models in Revit (MEP).
• Create BIM Revit models from scratch up to LOD 300/FEED and LOD 400/detailed design.
• Prepare construction documents including plans, sections, and details.
• Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, structural, and architectural teams to ensure clash-free designs.
• Perform model coordination and clash detection using Navisworks.
• Support engineers with design development, redlines, and revisions.

Mechanical Revit Designer - Houston, TX or Phoenix, AZ

Work Location(s): Houston, TX (Westchase) or Phoenix, AZ

Type: 1-year rolling Contract

Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote)

Pay Range: $55-65/hr. (1.5* for hours worked after 40)

Position Overview:

Our team is currently looking for a Mechanical Revit Designer in Houston, TX or Phoenix, AZ for one of our clients in the Infrastructure industry!

• Develop detailed HVAC ductwork layouts and 3D BIM models in Revit (MEP)
• Capable of creating a BIM Revit 3D model from scratch and detailing it up to LOD 300 / FEED phase and beyond into a LOD 400 / Detailed design, Issued for fabrication stage. This should incorporate complete HVAC ducting details including duct supports, instruments, fire-detection features and be ready for testing and balancing and commissioning
• Prepare construction documents including plans, sections, and details in accordance with consulting standards
• Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, structural, and architectural teams to ensure clash-free designs
• Perform model coordination and clash detection using Navisworks
• Interpret engineering calculations and translate them into constructible layouts
• Support engineers with design development, redlines, and revisions across project phases
• Apply industry standards such as ASHRAE guidelines and SMACNA duct standards
• Participate in internal QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Assist in maintaining BIM standards, templates, and families
• Developed coordinated HVAC ductwork models and construction drawings in Autodesk Revit for multidisciplinary consulting projects
• Maintained BIM standards, families, and templates to ensure consistency and quality

Qualifications (Education, Experience, & Skills):

• Degree or coursework in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field
• Minimum Ten (10) years' industry experience with AutoCAD and BIM coordination platforms
• Exposure to building systems design in the following sectors:
• Semiconductor Facilities
• Life-Sciences / Pharma Facilities
• Datacenters
• Industrial/process support buildings
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit (MEP modeling, work sets, families)
• Solid understanding of HVAC fundamentals (airflow, duct sizing, equipment layout)
• Having experience in Plumbing and Fire-Protection systems is considered an additional benefit
• Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven project environments
• Experience with multidisciplinary coordination and BIM workflows
• Strong communication skills for working with engineers and project teams
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality deliverables
