Job summary

A leading educational institution in Florida seeks a Research Engineer II (Mechanical) to join their Engineering and Innovative Technology Development (EITD) group. This early-career role involves developing mechanical system designs for space applications, reviewing engineering drawings, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and four years of related experience are required. Strong technical communication skills and CAD design experience are preferred. This position is onsite and operates during day shifts.

Qualifications

  • Four years of related experience required; work experience may NOT substitute for education.
  • Mechanical Engineering design experience for integration of mechanical and electrical systems preferred.
  • Experience for aerospace applications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop viable mechanical system and component designs based on project requirements and specifications.
  • Assist in development, maintenance, and operational support of payload systems for space applications.
  • Review and check engineering drawings for adherence to technical specifications.
