Midwest Valve Services, A Novaspect Company, is seeking a Repair Technician with emphasis on pressure relief and field services to join a fast-paced team. You will repair safety relief valves, machine components to OEM specs, and assist in testing and servicing valves and actuators.

Requires high school diploma with preferred associate degree. Will travel 30-60% and work on-site at customer facilities; safety and accuracy are essential in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Repair safety relief valves and related components per specs.

• Rig and hoist valve components per OSHA standards.
• Load/unload tools and equipment from service vehicles.
• Prepare valve repair and service reports; maintain clean work area.

## Mechanical Repair TechnicianApply: 2280 Ventura Drive, Woodbury, MN 55125: Full time: Posted 4 Days Ago: JR100115Midwest Valve Services, A Novaspect Company, is currently offering an opportunity for a Repair Technician with an emphasis in pressure relief and field services to join our fast paced, customer-oriented team.**Repair Technician Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*** Follow all safety guidelines and OSHA standards* Participate in the repair of safety relief valves in accordance with the National Board VR Code* Participate in the machining of nozzles, discs and associated parts to OEM specifications* Assist with the repair and testing of safety relief, industrial isolation valves, and actuators* Rigging and hoisting valve and actuator components in compliance with OSHA standards* Assist in loading and unloading tools and equipment into service vehicles* Apply math skills to verify measurements, calculate dimensions and verify tolerances* Complete valve repair and service reports* Maintain a clean work environment* Average travel time is up to 50-60% (Monday-Friday) over the course of the year. This means local travel to customer sites to perform on-site work and travel as needed throughout the Midwest.Spring and Fall are outage seasons and are the busy travel times of the yearWeekends and afterhours work may be required, up to 20% of the time.Overnight travel is required* Other duties as required**Repair Technician Education and/or Experience:*** High School diploma required* Industrial maintenance or industrial valve repair experience preferred* Associate’s degree in industrial mechanical maintenance, Instrumentation or related Technology field preferred* Dedication to a safe work environment through effective housekeeping, workplace safety, etc.**Repair Technician Additional Requirements:*** Must have mechanical aptitude* Must be able to take direction, use initiative and follow through to completion* Strong verbal communication skills* Computer application literacy including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn internal business systems* Strong attention to detail and conscientious nature* Ability and strong desire to lead by example, as well as work well with others* Must be willing to work on site at customer facilities* Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured on company insurance* Must be willing to learn and improve skill level for future advancement* Must be willing to travel 30-40% of the time during outage season (Fall and Spring)**Repair Technician Physical Requirements:*** Must be able to operate a commercial motor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of over 10,000 pounds* In accordance with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, candidates must be able to pass a DOT physical examination as a condition of employment* Ability to lift up to 50lbs* Ability of hands to grasp and manipulate small objects/tools* Ability to work with hand tools* Ability to work at heights* Ability to stoop, crawl and crouch while working on equipment on hands and knees* Ability to work on your feet for 8 hours per day* Ability to work in a loud industrial environment* Comfortable working around industrial equipment with exposed moving parts* Ability to climb stairs with up to 20lbs* Ability to climb a 20ft. ladder* Ability to drive on average 3-4 hours at a time* Ability to drive 8 hours as needed in a day – although not typical* Ability to work in high and cold temperature environments for extended hours**Repair Technician Pay:*** Hourly Rate: $24-$34* Eligible for overtime* Additional compensation will be paid for any travel and fieldwork*The final offer will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity.
